Sec. Andanar launches PCO Net in CALABARZON

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna, Sept. 14 (PIA) — To launch the Provincial Communication Officers Network (PCO Net) in the CALABARZON Region, Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar graced two events in Batangas and Tagaytay City respectively.

A Press Conference with the Secretary regarding the Launch of the PCO Net was held in the Provincial Planning and Development Office Conference Room, Provincial Capitol, Batangas City in the morning.

Secretary Andanar met with the Information Officers (IOs) of the Local Government Units (LGUs) in Batangas and of the National Government Agencies (NGAs) at the same venue.

Following the activity in Batangas, the Secretary attends the Regional Development Council Region IV-A’s (RDC IV-A’s) 2017 Third Quarter Full Council Meeting and delivers a 10-minute presentation, which will take place in Summit Ridge Hotel, Tagaytay City.

Sec. Andanar is requesting RDC to endorse a resolution on the creation of permanent positions for IOs in the LGUs in relation to his advocacy to form an association of government and non-government information officers and communicators.

This resolution was said to promote continuity in the IO’s role in terms of maintaining effective and efficient communications between the LGUs and the National Government from one administration to another.

The PCO Net is envisioned as a network of government and private communicators with direct access to the Office of the President of the Philippines through the PCOO. (GG/JG-PIA4A)
