Silang to host Cavite leg of ‘Operation Smile’ pre-registration

SILANG, Cavite – The Silang local government will play host to the pre-registration, including promotions and screening activity, for the Cavite leg of “Operation Smile” to benefit children with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities.

Silang Community Affairs Chief Noah M. Caasi said Thursday that Silang would also welcome applicants from nearby Cavite towns of Amadeo and General Mariano Alvarez, and the cities of Dasmariñas, Imus and General Trias who wish to avail of the free reconstructive surgeries spearheaded by the ‘Operation Smile’ Philippines (OSP) project.

Caasi announced that the pre-registration activity will be held at the Silang Rural Health Unit (RHU) at 2 to 4 p.m. from June 5 to 8.

He said that ‘Operation Smile,’ a globally known international medical charity, will conduct its surgical mission in Cavite to be held at the Pagamutan ng Dasmariñas in Dasmariñas City from June 10 to 16.

“The actual surgery dates will be announced accordingly during the pre-registration dates,” Caasi clarified.

He added that there is no minimum residency required and “we just need them to come so we can get their vital signs to get the proper clearance from the RHU.” (PNA)
