Standhardinger named Player of the Week

MANILA — As the Philippine Basketball Association takes a Halloween break, media covering the league handed Chris Standhardinger the Cignal-PBA Press Corps Player of the Week award.

The San Miguel forward went for a 20-20 against NorthPort on Wednesday night and came close to another against Rain or Shine three nights later.

These performances helped the Beermen snatch a spot in the Governors’ Cup quarterfinals despite an uncharacteristic 2-4 start.

Standhardinger beat teammate Alex Cabagnot, Phoenix’s Calvin Abueva, NLEX’s JR Quinahan, Blackwater’s Mac Belo, and Ginebra’s Greg Slaughter and Sol Mercado for the weekly citation. (PNA)
