Students to train under auspices of PCCI-San Pablo City

SAN PABLO CITY, Laguna – Students of the city-run Dalubhasaan ng Lunsod ng San Pablo (DLSP) can now have their internship and practicum training under the auspices of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI)-San Pablo City Chapter following the forging of a Memorandum of Cooperation on Monday.

City Mayor Loreto S. Amante signed the partnership undertaking on behalf of DLSP as its Chairman of the Board of Trustees, with PCCI-SPC president Rolando A. Inciong at the city hall.

Amante said the cooperation agreement aims to equip and capacitate DLSP students with the needed skills and know-how during their on-the-job training and internship in the various offices and manufacturing plants and business firms, which are members of the PCCI-SPC.

The partnership cooperation also facilitates the organization of a business organization at DLSP; promote and introduce to students the necessary skills in entrepreneurship and techno-preneurship; and support students in participating in business planning competitions under the auspices of PCCI and other business organizations.

Amante said the agreement would also ensure that the off-campus training through the PCCI-SPC would also match the students’ academic preparations and courses taken at the DLSP, thus avoiding job mismatch.

Witnesses to the signing ceremony include DLSP president Dr. Edelio Panaligan; Prof. Joel Cabael, Director for Extension, DLSP; John Lino Lim, Chair, PCCI-SPC Committee on Youth and IT; and Rey de Leon, Executive Director, PCCI-SPC. (Ruben E. Taningco/PNA)
