Survey: 93% of NCR residents wear face masks

Around 93 percent or nine out of 10 residents of the National Capital Region (NCR) wear face masks, a recent survey of OCTA Research found out.

The survey also found out that 89 percent of the respondents regularly wash their hands, 83 percent use face shields, while 73 percent practice social distancing.

The survey was conducted from December 9 to 13 last year among 600 residents of Mega Manila, aged 18 years-old and above.

The government has been reminding the public to observe health standards to prevent the transmission of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), especially its new strain which was reportedly more transmissible.

Six countries have already been added on Wednesday to the initial list of countries covered by the travel ban amid the threat of the new strain.

As of January 7, 1,353 new confirmed cases were reported, bringing the tally to 482,083. 449,052 have already recovered and 9,356 have died. – PTV News
