Taguig introduces COVID-19 drive thru testing

The Taguig Local Government Unit (LGU)’s drive thru coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) testing may be a “game changer” if proven effective against the virus.

According to Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque III, the drive thru system is organized and fast since the individual can register online to schedule for the testing.

Under the Systematic Mass Approach to Responsible Testing (SMART), the drive thru system has been implemented in addition to the existing on-call service of the health workers where they go to the resident’s home to collect swab samples. More than 1, 000 constituents have been tested and the city aims to increase the number. The LGU will train personnel in 31 health centers and 3 super health centers for barangay-based testing. – PTV news
