UAE Ambassador pays courtesy call on DFA Undersecretary Dulay

The new United Arab Emirates Ambassador to the Philippines, Mohamed Obaid Salem Alqataam Alzaabi, called on Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Civilian and Consular Affairs Brigido J. Dulay at the DFA Headquarters in Pasay City on Friday, November 26.

Undersecretary Dulay thanked Ambassador Alzaabi for the UAE government’s donation of personal protective equipment and COVID-19 vaccines, as well as in recognizing the Philippines’ digital vaccination certificate, VaxCertPH.

In response, Ambassador Alzaabi, thanked the Philippines for its usual cooperation on issues of common concern, and for its support for the UAE’s bid to host the 28th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in 2023.

They also discussed a wide range of issues, including the mutual recognition of vaccination certificates, the inclusion of the UAE in the Philippine’s Green List, and government responses to COVID-19.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further enhance bilateral ties between the Philippines and the UAE. -rir
