Validity of some student permits, licenses extended

The validity of student permits, driver’s licenses, and conductor’s licenses of newly considered authorized persons outside residence (APORs) has been extended until December 31.

Citing LTO guidelines, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said that there will be no penalty collected on the renewal of driver’s and conductor’s licenses that expired during the quarantine period.

“Dahil sa inaasahang pagdagsa ng mga aplikante, ang validity ng student permit, driver’s license, at conductor’s license na nag-expire noong panahon na may restriction ay na-extend hanggang December 31, 2020 (Due to the expected influx of applicants, the validity of student permits, driver’s license and conductor’s licenses that have expired during lockdown have been extended until December 31, 2020),” Roque added.

The registration of vehicle plate numbers ending in 6,7, and 8 has also been extended until October 31, and until the end of the year for those ending in 9 and 0.

The LTO updated rules on extension are applicable only to persons within the 17 to 21 years-old and 60 to 65 years-old range whose permits and licenses expired during the times they were required to stay at home. – PTV News Online
