ZAMBOANGA CITY – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has adjudged the Zamboanga City Anti-Drugs Abuse Council (ZCADAC) as the most functional anti-drugs abuse body this year here in the Zamboanga Peninsula.

Isidro Cillo Jr., Operations Division chief of the DILG-Zamboanga City Office, in a letter dated December 14 to Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar, said ZCADAC bested the Provincial Anti-Drugs Abuse Councils (PADACs) in Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga del Norte.

Salazar, as the mayor of this city, seats as the chairperson of ZADAC.

Cillo said the ZCADAC garnered a functionality rating of 80 percent, the highest among the provinces and highly urbanized city category in the region.

He said the functionality award will be conferred on ZCADAC in a fitting ceremony scheduled for December 28, 2018 at the DILG central office.

He attributed the honor to ZCADAC’s accomplishments in the implementation of various programs and activities against the illegal drugs, not to mention the efficiency of the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) under Dr. Elmeir Jade Apolinario, being the head of the ZCADAC Secretariat.

He congratulated the ZCADAC for having been adjudged as most functional in the region, the first recognition ever since its creation years back.
