Zamboecozone builds P221-M facilities for BPOs

ZAMBOANGA CITY--The Zamboanga City Special Economic Zone Authority (Zamboecozone) is constructing two buildings worth PHP221 million to house Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) offices.

Christopher Lawrence Arnuco, Zamboecozone chairperson and administrator, on Friday said the construction of the two edifices is now on its 20 percent stage of completion. The facilities are set to finish in the second quarter of 2019.

Arnuco said the buildings will house BPOs such as call centers, medical transcription companies, and others.

Arnuco said the Zamboecozone is offering vast leasable space for companies interested to invest in this city.

He said that an 8,000 square-meter leasable lot will be available for BPOs seeking to locate in Zamboanga.

The city is eyed as an emerging location for BPOs by the Department of Science and Technology-Information and Communications Technology Office (DOST-ICTO) for its dynamic and language-proficient workforce.
