11.6-K COVID-19 cases recorded from May 22-28

The Department of Health (DOH) reported Monday, May 29, that 11,667 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded from May 22 to 28, with average daily cases of 1,667.

Average daily cases last week were lower by 6% than the average cases from May 15 to 21.

There were also 105 severe and critical cases recorded, while no COVID-related deaths were reported or verified from May 15 to 28.

The DOH said there are currently 554 severe and critical cases admitted to hospitals.

Of the 2,077 intensive case unit (ICU) beds, 21.8% or 453 are occupied, while 18,121 of the or 23.2% of the total 4,208 non-ICU COVID-19 beds are being used.

As of May 28, there are 16,002 active COVID-19 cases in the country.

The DOH reminded the public to continue complying with minimum public health standards under Alert Level 1, including immediate isolation for those experiencing COVID-19 symptoms. – gb
