32 families in Pampanga, Zambales affected by ‘Domeng’

MANILA — The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported Thursday that the inclement weather brought by Typhoon Domeng has so far affected 32 families or 132 persons in the provinces of Pampanga and Zambales.

According to NDRRMC executive director Ricardo Jalad, this can be broken down into 22 families or 93 persons in San Fernando, Pampanga and 10 families or 39 persons in Sta. Cruz, Zambales.

He added that the affected families in Zambales are being sheltered at the Malibago Elementary School in Sta. Cruz town.

The number of damaged houses in San Fernando, Pampanga remained at 16 with 10 partially damaged and six totally destroyed.

The number of confirmed fatality remained at one, with the drowning death of 27-year-old Algemon Dalisam Nunez, a resort employee of the Orange Pearl Resort, in Barangay Corong-Corong, El Nido, Palawan.

The worker went missing after his jet ski toppled in the sea. His remains were recovered last June 8.

Meanwhile, the NDRRMC is validating reports that two persons were killed and another was injured in the collapse of a temporary office structure along Sandico St., Baguio City.
