BAYAMBANG, Pangasinan — Residents of this town can enjoy celebrating Valentine’s Day with a free concert and movie marathon from the Local Council of Women (LCW), local government unit (LGU), and the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation.

“There will also be spoken poetry and movie marathon for all ages and gender to enjoy. There will also be free cotton candies, wedding booth, love wall and love locks. All will be available at the municipal plaza starting 6 p.m. on February 14,” municipal tourism officer Rafael Saygo said in an interview Thursday.

Saygo said performers in the “Love Concert” are a local band and rapper of this town.

He noted that the town’s first lady Mary Claire Jose Quiambao, also president of the LCW, sponsored the event.

Saygo said the candidates for Ms. Bayambang 2019 will also be presented during the concert.

Prior to the concert, some 120 couples tied the knot at a mass wedding sponsored by the municipal government, he said.

“Our Municipal Civil Registrar wanted to encourage couples who are already living together to get married for the good of their children,” he added.
