Restricted access in Senate after guest tested COVID-19 positive

Access to the Senate office and premises is now restricted after an invited resource person in a hearing on March 5 tested positive with Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Senator Sherwin Gatchalian has decided to self-quarantine, since he came in contact with the resource person, as well as Senator Nancy Binay, Department of Finance (DOF) Secretary Carlos Dominguez and Department of Transportation (DoTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade for attending the said hearing.

The Senate has arranged a disinfection Thursday, and is reviewing the CCTV footage to identify the people who came in contact with the resource person.

Likewise, Senate President Vicente Sotto III cancelled the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing on the money laundering of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) scheduled Thursday.
