Bicameral conference committee ratifies report on National Academy of Sports

The bicameral conference committee has ratified the report establishing the National Academy of Sports.

Joint Senate Bill No. 1086 and House Bill No. 6312 aims to build the NAS main campus in New Clark City Sports Complex, Capas, Tarlac. The NAS will be under the Department of Education (DepEd) in coordination with the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).

A national fund for high school students participating in sports is also part of the bill. Senator Bong Go has thanked his colleagues in supporting the proposal.

Senator Win Gatchalian trusts that the ability of the Filipinos in sports will be harnessed because of the academy. – PTV News
