30-day grace period for rentals remains

The 30-day grace period for rental payment under the community quarantine remains.

According to Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez, DTI Memorandum Circular Number 20-31 states that the grace period covers the enhanced community quarantine, general community quarantine, and the modified general community quarantine.

Rental payment cannot be forced until businesses return to normal operations to help the entrepreneurs who lost their earnings due to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Sec. Lopez asks the landlords to help entrepreneurs slowly get back on their feet before collecting payments. – PTV News
