Senate, MMDA staff positive for COVID-19

Two employees of the Senate have tested positive for COVID-19, Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri disclosed. Last week, one Senate staff died of pneumonia whose COVID-19 test result is still pending.

In total, not more than 20 individuals are confirmed COVID-19 cases at the Senate, including members of staff of senators.

Meanwhile, the number of MMDA personnel who are COVID-19 positive climbed to nine from the initial count of four last Tuesday. Its headquarters has been placed under lockdown since Wednesday to give way for disinfection.

“Yung traffic management, ‘yung mga enforcers po natin, tuloy pa rin ang trabaho since mayroon naman tayong offices sa iba’t-ibang thoroughfares (On traffic management, our enforcers will continue to work since we have offices in various thoroughfares),” MMDA Spokesperson ASec. Celine Pialago assured.
