DOH extends sympathies to family of health worker and hit-and-run victim

The Department of Health (DOH) has extended its sympathies to the family of a nurse and Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) frontliner Renz Jayson Perez who died from a hit-and-run incident.

Perez was ran over by a car on August 23 while he was cycling along Padre Burgos Avenue in Manila.

In a statement, the DOH expressed its admiration towards his dedication and courage in taking care of patients. The health department reiterated the call for the protection of frontliners especially healthcare workers. The department appeals to the local government units (LGUs) to create a protected bicycle lane soon, ensure the safety of all those who use the road, and the immediate response against violators.
