Badoy, Makabayan bloc clash continues

The word war between PCOO Undersecretary Lorraine Badoy and the Makabayan Bloc ensues from allegations of red-tagging.

Badoy stated in her Facebook post on Friday that she is prepared to resign under four conditions, including the Makabayan bloc solons’ condemnation and public denunciation of the atrocities committed by the CPP-NPA-NDF.

She also included in the conditions that the said legislators must promise to work with the government to eradicate communist rebels, and to call on Joma Sison and his allies to surrender.

“I am willing to resign. I am very willing to resign, basta mag-ano sila. Hindi ba, kaya naman sila offended at outraged kasi sinabi ko na high-ranking party members sila ng CPP-NPA-NDF? (I am very willing to resign as long as they do it. Isn’t it that they are offended and outraged because I said that they are high-ranking party members of the CPP-NPA-NDF?)” Badoy challenged.

“‘So I give them the benefit of the doubt. Malamang hindi, malamang nagkamali ako, at magre-resign ako ora mismo basta ikondena nila ang mga karahasang ginagawa ng teroristang grupong ‘yan (I could be right or wrong, and I will immediately resign once they condemn the atrocities being committed by the terrorist group),” Badoy added.

Bayan Muna countered that the move is only a diversionary tactic on the issue of the alleged pork barrel under the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) where Badoy is a part of.

“Hers is a farcical dare and a classic fascist trick of placing the burden instead to us whom she publicly accused of being terrorists to prove our innocence,” Bayan Muna Party-list Rep. Carlos Zarate stated.

“Make your accusations under oath, but make no mistake about it because you will be made accountable by your malicious accusations,” Zarate added.
