Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Menardo Guevarra has stated that President Rodrigo R. Duterte has merely expressed trust in Secretary Francisco Duque III when he said that he does not see any probable cause to charge the health secretary.
The DOJ Chief sees the President’s statement as “an expression of trust, not of exoneration.” But he believes that if there is evidence against anyone, the President “will not impede the legal process from taking its due course.”
Sec. Guevarra has assured that the DOJ will continue to comply with the President’s directives to ensure that justice is served against corrupt PhilHealth officials. -PTV News
