Malacañang is pleased with the result of the new Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey regarding the willingness of Filipinos to receive the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine.
Based on the latest National Mobile Phone Survey of the SWS conducted on September 17 to 20, 66% of adult Filipinos are “willing” to be vaccinated against COVID-19 while 34% are “unwilling.”
According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, “we view this as a positive development as this means that more Filipinos trust the current government’s vaccination program.”
He added that “we, however, hope there will be a significant increase in the number of Filipinos willing to get the COVID-19 vaccine as President Rodrigo Roa Duterte wants all Filipinos to get vaccines, with priority given to the poor, indigents and other vulnerable sectors.”
Secretary Roque and Vaccine Czar and National Task Force against COVID-19 (NTF) Chief Implementer Carlito Galvez earlier announced that President Rodrigo Duterte has approved the country’s advance payment for the COVID-19 vaccine.
