Millions of COVID-19 vaccine doses to arrive in February

Malacañang confirmed that millions of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine doses will arrive in the Philippines in February.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque disclosed that the vaccine doses will arrive through the COVAX facility of the World Health Organization (WHO).
Based on the letter sent by COVAX, 117,000 doses of the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine will reach the country by mid-February while 5.5 million to 9.2 million indicative doses of the AstraZeneca-SK Bio vaccine are expected to reach the country by mid or late February.

The Palace has initially confirmed that 50,000 doses of the Sinovac vaccine are set to arrive in the same month.

In relation to this, the National Task Force against COVID-19 (NTF) approved the Philippine National Deployment and Vaccination Plan for COVID-19 vaccines. It contains the general plan of the government regarding the coordination of the proper distribution of the vaccine.

In a separate memorandum, the NTF has ordered all government agencies to implement the said plan. Report from Mela Lesmoras
