DTI welcomes PRRD’s statement on opening the economy

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has welcomed the statement of President Rodrigo R. Duterte on the opening of the economy once the country gets 2 million doses of vaccine against the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

In a public briefing, DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez stated that they respect all decisions of the President. He was also pleased with the arrival of the first batch of the COVID-19 vaccine since “it can only bring heightened optimism” in the country.

Meanwhile, the DTI Chief also approved the unified travel protocols for all local government units (LGUs) as issued by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).

Sec. Lopez claimed that the unified travel protocols will help in the mobility of the public especially authorized persons outside of residence (APORs).
