The Philippines remains optimistic in achieving population protection by the end of the year as the national vaccination program is close to administering four million vaccine doses in the first two weeks of July.

As of July 11, a total of 13,196,282 vaccine doses were administered. Of which, 9,669,940 were first doses, while the remaining 3,526,342 were second doses.

“Ito po ang pinakamarami at pinakamabilis na dalawang linggo na pagbakuna natin simula noong tayo ay nag-launch ng program natin noong March 1,” National Task Force (NTF) Deputy Chief Implementer Secretary Vince Dizon said in a public briefing on Monday (July 12).

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque also reported on the latest vaccine arrivals in the country last week.

A total of 1,124,100 AstraZeneca vaccine doses donated by the Japanese government arrived here on Thursday (July 8), while another 2,028,000 AstraZeneca vaccine doses from the COVAX Facility arrived on Friday (July 9).

Some 132,200 doses of government-procured Sputnik V vaccine also arrived on Friday, while about 37,800 doses of Sputnik V (Component I) vaccines arrived here on Saturday (July 10).

Roque also said that a total of 10,410,020 COVID-19 vaccine doses were distributed across all regions in the country.
