Four out of five or 80% of Filipinos “approve” of the national government’s response to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

According to OCTA’s latest Tugon ng Masa survey, conducted from July 12 to 18 and with a sample size of 1,200 respondents aged 18 and above, the National Capital Region (NCR) registered the highest approval rating of 87%, followed by Mindanao with an 84% approval rating.

The approval rating of adult Filipinos in balanced Luzon and Visayas lag at 83% and 65%, respectively.

The Visayas recorded the highest disapproval at 12%.

Meanwhile, the majority of adult Filipinos are aware of the programs of the local and national governments to fight against the pandemic.

OCTA said that roughly four out of five Filipinos are most aware of the COVID-19 testing program and the establishment of isolation and quarantine facilities.

Three-quarters of adult Filipinos or 75% are aware of the government’s programs on contract tracing, while about three-fifths or 61% are aware that hospital capacities are being upgraded. Report from Mark Fetalco/PG – bny
