DepEd proposes August 22 opening for next SY

The Department of Education announced Tuesday, April 19, the proposed August 22 opening date for the School Year 2022-2023.

During the EduAksyon national press conference, Curriculum and Instruction Undersecretary Diosdado San Antonio presented the proposed dates of the school calendar which will follow a blended learning setup.

Every quarter will last for 11 weeks, with the first quarter starting on August 22 to November 4, the second quarter on November 7 to February 3, third quarter on February 13 to April 28, and fourth quarter on May 2 to July 7.

Christmas break will start on December 19 and classes will resume on January 2, 2023. February 6 to 10 is set for the mid-year break, while the end-of-year rites will be on July 10 to 14, 2023.

There will be summer breaks for remedial, enrichment ,and advanced classes that will start on July 17, 2023 and will end on August 26, 2023.

Meanwhile, the proposed date for School Year 2023- 2024 is on August 28, 2023. – ag
