Agaton death toll rises to 212

The number of casualties caused by Typhoon Agaton rose to 212 as of Monday morning, April 25, based on the latest situational report released by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

Of the total deaths, 111 are confirmed and 101 have yet to be validated.

A total of 132 individuals are still tagged missing, while there are no additional injuries from the eight injured citizens after Agaton whipped parts of the Visayas and Mindanao and triggered floods and massive landslides.

Typhoon Agaton displaced a total of 650,454 families or 2,268,753 individuals in 2,670 barangays across nine regions and a total of 12,304 families or 34,522 persons were pre-emptively evacuated.

The typhoon has damaged 16,382 houses with an estimated cost of P709,500 and 45 infrastructures worth P6,950,000. 

Meanwhile, the damage to agriculture has increased to P 1,332,566,948.54. – gb
