Robredo congratulates VP-elect Sara Duterte

Vice President Leni Robredo congratulated on Monday, May 30, her successor, outgoing Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.

“Warmest congratulations on your proclamation as the 15th Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines,” Robredo said in an official letter.

Robredo said their camp is ready to meet the camp of Duterte-Carpio “to answer any questions you may have regarding the Office of the Vice President and to take all necessary steps to ensure a smooth transition.”

The Office of the Vice President’s chief of staff, Undersecretary Philip Dy, will get in touch with Duterte-Carpio’s team, according to Robredo.

Duterte-Carpio, through her spokesperson Mayor Christina Frasco, has sought an initial meeting with Robredo.

Duterte-Carpio was proclaimed vice president-elect on May 25 with 32,208,417 official votes cast for her in the May 9 polls. – ag
