Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman said the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Program (NDRRMP) Fund is ready to be used for relief operations in areas hit by the magnitude 7 earthquake that struck the province of Abra and various parts of the country on Wednesday, July 27.

The fund can be used for “reconstruction, rehabilitation, repair aid, relief” and other services including pre-disaster activities and natural calamities.

The Department of Budget and Management said that there is also a quick response fund (QRF) that can be “mobilized” if necessary.

Meanwhile, she expressed sympathy to all the victims of the recent earthquake and vowed to give disaster relief support.

“Our hearts and prayers go out to all affected by the earthquake,” she said. “Rest assured that we are ready to support all operations for disaster relief with the necessary budget.” –ag
