Drug suspect nabbed, P150-k worth of drugs seized in Davao

Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel have arrested a regional high-value suspect for illegal drugs and her live-in partner in an operation in Davao City on Thursday, Aug. 18.

The arrested individuals by operaties of Mandug Police Station were identified as Angelie Pacate and Rosendo Pelpinosas. Illegal drugs with an estimated street market value of P150,000 were seized.

They will be facing charges of violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“This operation yielded the number 5 most wanted in the regional level. Accordingly, she’s been involved in the illegal drug trade. Surely, cases will be filed against the suspect and her cohort,” PNP Chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. said.

The operation was a result of reliable information from a confidential informant.

Meanwhile, the PNP also recovered in a separate operation two M16a1 rifles with SN RP201144, one M203 grenade launcher, and one M14 rifle.

“The PNP will always take an aggressive approach against bearers of illegal firearms and ammunition. This is one way we can suppress criminal activities,” Azurin said. (PR)
