Batanes Governor Marilou Cayco on Thursday, Sept. 8, appealed to the public to buy their garlic in the province, citing oversupply issues.
Cayco said around 20 tons of garlic are available in the province.
She added the Department of Agriculture in Region 2 brought less garlic from farmers this year, so the provincial government bought them instead.
Cayco they are already preparing to send out garlic orders to Metro Manila, Isabela, Tuguegarao City, and the Ilocos Region.
