Grab Philippines said it will provide financial aid to the family of a rider who was killed after he collided with a truck in Baguio.

A 30-year-old Grab delivery rider died after he was run over by a 10-wheeler truck in Barangay Loakan Proper in Baguio.

According to reports, the rider tried to overtake the truck while ascending to a blind curve.

“We are already in contact with them to offer financial aid and to assist them in the claims process of his insurance policy, which is issued to every Grab rider-partner,” Grab Philippines said on Twitter in a reply to one netizen.

“The safety and well-being of our partners – and everyone on our platform – are important to us,” the ride-hailing app added.
