An initial 100 units of body-worn cameras will be distributed to traffic enforcers of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) who are assigned in four areas in Metro Manila.
According to the MMDA, this will be in conjunction with the implementation of the single ticketing system next month.
MMDA Acting Chairperson Atty. Don Artes said the recordings from the cameras are linked to the new MMDA Command Center in Pasig.
These will be used as proof in case apprehended motorists have complaints.
The MMDA Traffic Discipline Office held an orientation on Tuesday to familiarize enforcers with the technical specifications, features, and parts of the gadget.
Each camera can function for up to eight hours to cover the shift of an enforcer.
