Two weather systems outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) are being monitored by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

PAGASA weather specialist Obet Badrina on Monday, June 5, said a low pressure area spotted near the West Philippine Sea is unlikely to enter PAR.

Meanwhile, cloud clusters spotted east of Visayas and Mindanao may eventually become an LPA and could enter PAR this week.

“Isa namang cloud clusters ang patuloy nating mino-monitor sa kasalukuyan. Mas ito po ay ine-expect natin na maging low pressure area at pumasok ng Philippine area of responsibility. Patuloy natin itong imo-monitor. Posible kasi ngayong araw o bukas, ito’y maging ganap na low pressure area,” Badrino noted.

PAGASA earlier said about 10 to 15 tropical cyclones are likely to enter the country for the next five months.
