PNP warns vs fake memorandum on PH’s preparations for WWIII

By Gabriela Baron

The Philippine National Police (PNP) warned on Monday, June 5, the public against a fake memorandum circulating online about the Philippines’ preparations for World War III.

The undated fake memorandum cited National Commission on Muslim Filipinos Secretary Guiling Mamondiong’s suggested measures “to strengthen the internal and external defense of the Philippines in preparation for the Third World War.”

It recommended enlisting as reservists in the military the combatants of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), Moro Islamic Liberation Font (MILF), and the Cotabato Revolutionary Command, including all armed groups supporting the Marcos administration.

The fake memorandum also recommended mobilizing all the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) to undergo military and police training “to form part of the National Guards.”

Lastly, it also recommended the mobilization of at least five million citizens to compose the National Guard from the civilian populace as a preparation for World War III. – ag
