The indulgence of sweets is a universal and irresistible sensation that is sure to tickle one’s sweet tooth and cravings for such tasty treats.
Filipino sweets are no exception to this, as proven by the inclusion of silvanas among the list of the 50 best cookies in the world by Taste Atlas, a food and travel website.
These frozen cookie sandwiches are made with two cashew-meringue wafers that are held together with a thick layer of buttercream and are generously coated in cashew crumbs.
Silvanas placed 29th among the 50 top pastries coming from all corners of the world.
Among the sweet delicacies that topped the charts were Argentina’s Alfajores, Greece’s Melomakarona, USA’s chocolate chip cookie, the Netherlands’ Stroopwafel, and Marranitos, a sweet bread from Mexico.
Other cookies that made it to the list include Makroud el louse, which occupies the 7th spot; macarons, at the 16th spot; and Laskonky, which occupies the 22nd spot in the rankings.
Australia’s Anzac biscuits and Denmark’s Danish cookies (Småkager) were also present in the list, occupying the 36th and 47th spots, respectively.
