At the event, the Southeast Asian nation earned accolades such as the World’s Leading Dive Destination 2025, World’s Leading City Destination 2025 (Manila), and World’s Leading Luxury Island Destination 2025 (Boracay).
The first award reflects the country’s vibrant and rich marine biodiversity, likewise marking the seventh year in a row that the Philippines was recognized as a premier destination for divers from around the world.
Manila’s recognition, moreover, marks its third consecutive year as a prime travel spot, beating a sizable roster of other established international destinations owing to the city’s mix of a rich cultural backdrop that continues to harmonize with progress and modernization.

“We extend our warmest gratitude to the travelers and tourism professionals who voted for the Philippines. These World Travel Award distinctions raise our country’s visibility and encourage the millions of Filipinos who work in tourism and contribute daily to our national development.”
“Under the leadership of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., we will continue to strengthen tourism infrastructure, connectivity, and visitor services so that these recognitions translate to wider opportunities for our people.”
The Tourism chief likewise expressed gratitude to local government units, hospitality sector workers, transport partners, resort and hotel operators, and other stakeholders for their indispensable contribution towards bolstering the country’s tourism industry.
