MANILA — The Commission on Appointments (CA) on Wednesday confirmed the appointments of eight senior officers — seven ambassadors and one Foreign Service Officer — of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
Confirmed were:
* Grace Relucio Princesa: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Holy See with concurrent jurisdiction over Malta;
* Frank Revil Cimafranca: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Hellenic Republic with concurrent jurisdiction over Cyprus;
* Marichu Barredo Mauro: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Brazil with concurrent jurisdiction over Colombia, Guyana, Suriname and Venezuela;
* Hjayceelyn Mancenido Quintana: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United Arab Emirates;
* Linglingay Fonacier Lacanlale: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Argentina, with concurrent jurisdiction over Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay;
* Cesar Lee Hiong Wee: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Indonesia; and
* Ombra Jainal: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Czech Republic.
Also confirmed was the nomination of Rowena F. Mutia as Foreign Service Officer, Class IV.
Their nominations were confirmed after a public hearing conducted earlier in the day by the CA’s Committee on Foreign Affairs chaired by Sen. Panfilo Lacson,
Lacson said his committee ruled to recommend their nominations to the CA plenary after it was determined that “they are fit and qualified to be in the posts where they are nominated.” (Jose Cielito Reganit/PNA)
