DTI opens 16th “Negosyo Center” in Cavite town

MAGALLANES, Cavite – Business owners here and from nearby municipalities may now renew and process their business registration applications and even avail of business advisory services at the newly opened Negosyo Center (NC) in this upland town.

The Negosyo Center, the 16th to be established in Cavite province, is a partnership between the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the local government unit (LGU) through a memorandum of agreement (MOA).

Under the agreement, the Magallanes local government provides for the needed space (with telephone and internet connection) and staff at the Municipal Cooperative Development Council (MCDC) Building on De Guia Street.

DTI has assigned a staff-trainor who will provide not only business registration assistance but must also help the local entrepreneurs with opportunities for market access and linkage services.

The new business center, which was established on March 21, now provides entrepreneurs with market information as well as a database of suppliers and buyers.

Gracing the opening of the new business center were DTI Calabarzon Assistant Regional Director Marcelina Alcantara, DTI-Cavite Director Noly D. Guevarra and Magallanes Mayor Jasmin Angelli Maligaya-Bautista.

Also present during the opening rites were Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development (PCLEDO) Cavite Head Alvin S. Mojica and Ka Rodring Camia, National Most Oustanding Cooperative Leader of CDA Gawad Parangal 2016.

Business owners may also inquire on the available government assistance programs for business expansion plans, and the schedule of trainings and seminars through the Negosyo Center.

The Negosyo Center, which operates under the provisions of the “Go Negosyo Act” and its Implementing Rules and Regulations, is responsible for promoting “ease of doing business and facilitate access to services for Micro-Small-Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) within its jurisdiction.

These services include Business Registration Assistance, Business Advisory Services, Business Information and Advocacy, (Business) Monitoring and Evaluation and perform other functions that may be assigned by the MSMED Council as germane to RA 10644 and other related laws.

DTI has since established various “Negosyo Center” sites in the cities of Trece Martires, Bacoor, General Trias, Cavite City, Dasmariǹas and Imus (with 2 location sites) plus the municipalities of Kawit, Ternate, Carmona, Mendez, Naic. General Mariano Alvarez, Amadeo, Maragondon and now Magallanes. (PNA)
