Motorcycle robber killed in Parañaque shootout

MANILA — An unidentified man was killed while his cohort escaped in a shootout with Parañaque police shortly after they tried to steal a motorcycle from an off-duty female security guard early Wednesday, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said.

In a report, the NCRPO said the two still unidentified suspects robbed the victim, Reah Jornadal, at gunpoint and forcibly took her bag and motorcycle at Poblete Compound, along West Service Road, Barangay San Valley, Parañaque City.

The victim shouted for help from the policemen as the two suspects tried to flee.

Responding police officers chased the suspects and cornered one of them, who later returned fire while the other suspect escaped.

Police recovered from the suspects the personal belongings of the victim, her motorcycle, one Caliber .38 homemade revolver with three live ammunition and one empty shell, and four sachets of a substance believed to be “shabu”. (Benjamin Pulta/PNA)
