House suspends work due to bad weather

MANILA — Work at the House of Representatives was suspended on Monday due to inclement weather caused by the southwest monsoon enhanced by tropical storm Yagi (formerly Karding).

The Office of Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo confirmed this to reporters in a group message.

Meanwhile, the committee hearings would proceed as scheduled. These include the hearings of the House committee on energy and the House committee on games and amusements.

“Work is suspended na (already) but (we) will keep skeletal force to support committee hearings that would proceed,” the statement read.

Monday’s plenary session at 3:00 p.m. has also been suspended, as per the House committee on rules. (Filane Mikee Cervantes/PNA)
