DOLE: ‘No work, no pay’ on November 1, 2

MANILA — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Wednesday said the “no work, no pay” policy will apply during All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day, which were declared as special non-working days.

DOLE noted that said policy would apply on Thursday (Nov. 1) and Friday (Nov. 2) except if there is a company policy on the payment for the said days.

“It applies unless there is a favorable company policy, practice, or collective bargaining agreement (CBA) granting payment on a special day,” the department said in an advisory.

DOLE noted that workers who will report to work on the said days will receive an additional 30 percent on his/her basic pay on the first eight hours.

If the employee worked overtime or more than eight hours, he/she will be paid an additional 30 percent of his/her hourly rate.

For work done during the special non-working days that also fall on employee’s rest day, he/she shall be paid an additional 50 percent of his/her basic wage on the first eight hours.

For work done more than eight hours (overtime), an employee shall be paid an additional 30 percent of his/her hourly rate. (Ferdinand Patinio/PNA)
