KIDAPAWAN CITY – One hundred twenty-eight indigent families can now start a new life and earn a decent source of income through the assistance of the Department of Labor and Employment-Region 12 (DOLE-12).

On Wednesday, the beneficiaries received starter kits under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP), in simple ceremonies held at the Kidapawan City gymnasium.

Arlene Bisnon, DOLE-12 assistant regional director, and Kidapawan Councilor Jivy Roe Bombeo led the distribution of livelihood packages for variety stores (sari-sari store), equipment for dress-making, and ice-cream making, among others. Mayor Joseph Evangelista said the starter kits cost between PHP10,000 to PHP20,000 each.

Since it was given for free, DOLE and the Kidapawan City government are asking the beneficiaries to ensure the livelihood package would flourish to give more benefits to their respective families.

The whole project costs PHP4 million for 128 families.
