President Duterte extends assistance to Manila fire victims

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on Wednesday, August 16, extended assistance to the victims of a fire in San Miguel, Manila.

The Chief Executive paid a brief visit to the families affected by a fire at a residential area inside the Malacañang compound on early Wednesday morning.

In his remarks at San Miguel Church, the President said he will give P5,000 as cash assistance for each family.

President Duterte said the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will provide food packs which contain six kilos of rice, three cans of corned beef, three cans of meatloaf, six sachets of three-in-one coffee, blanket, bottled water, and a sleeping mat.

In addition, the President assured that food will be provided to the families.

“’Yung pagkain, sagot po namin hanggang maka-ano kayo,” the President said.

“We will ask the [DSWD] to provide food everyday habang nag-a-adjust kayo,” he said. (PND)
