DILG serves show cause orders to several barangay chairmen

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has served show cause orders to several barangay chairmen due to failure to comply with Enhanced Community Quarantine guidelines.

The barangay chairmen have personally received the show cause orders and have been given 48 hours to explain.

DILG Undersecretary for Barangay Affairs Martin Diño has stated that more than 100 barangay chairmen were given the said orders.

The DILG has inspected barangays to check the proper implementation of the ECQ guidelines. Public officials who do not follow the guidelines may be imprisoned, penalized or face perpetual disqualification under the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act.
