DILG submits 3 to 5 nominees for PNP chief post soon

Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año has said that he would submit to Pres. Rodrigo Duterte a list of three to five nominees for the Philippine National Police (PNP) director general position. The moves comes after PGen. Oscar Albayalde resigned as the top cop on Monday, 14 October 2019. Lt. Gen. Archie Gamboa took charge as the police force’s officer-in-charge. Año added that Albayalde will receive his complete benefits because there is no pending case against the former PNP head. The probe on the controversial 2013 anti-illegal drugs operation in Pampanga, where Albayalde’s name as then provincial director surfaced, is expected to be finished in the coming days.
