DILG urges LGUs for speedy distribution of SAP aid

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has urged all local government units (LGUs) to finish the distribution of aid for 18 million family-beneficiaries of the Social Amelioration Program until April 30.

DILG Secretary Eduardo Año instructed mayors to hasten the distribution so the families can buy necessities, following reports that several Filipinos have not yet received any forms or aid.

He reminded the LGUs about the signed agreement with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to give aid to the marginalized sector. If they fail to do so, they will be liable in accordance with the law. – PTV News
