DOH says COA report lacked explanation

The Department of Health (DOH) stated that it has already distributed medicines and medical supplies after the Commission on Audit (COA) questioned its P2.2 billion worth of expired, near expiry and overstocked medicine and supplies.

According to DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, the report released by COA lack in details. She clarified that the department has distributed P815 million worth of medical supplies from January to August 2020 while the medicines worth P322 million will expire on 2021 to 2023.

DOH USec. Vergeire has added that only 166,230 dental kits have expired while others have been handed out.
