Ex-US President George H.W. Bush dies at 94

MANILA — Former United States President George H.W. Bush has died at the age of 94, according to a statement from his office.

“George Herbert Walker Bush, World War II naval pilot, Texas oil pioneer and 41st president of the United States of America, died on November 30, 2018. He was 94 years old,” the statement read.

Bush served two terms as vice president of Ronald Reagan before he became Chief Executive himself after winning the 1988 polls, defeating Michael Dukakis.

He served as the US president from 1989 to 1993.

According to media reports, he was taken to hospital in April with an infection that spread to the blood, shortly after the funeral of his wife, Barbara.

The former US president suffered from Parkinson’s disease.
