MANILA — A low-pressure area (LPA) was spotted off east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Monday.

In its latest weather bulletin, PAGASA said the LPA was estimated 325 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

PAGASA said the Bicol Region, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Davao region, and Eastern and Central Visayas will also experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the LPA. It warned against possible flash floods or landslides due to light to moderate with occasional heavy rains in these areas.

Batanes and the Babuyan group of islands, meanwhile, will have cloudy skies with scattered rains caused by the northeast monsoon.

Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon will also experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains, also due to the northeast monsoon.

Western Visayas and the remaining parts of Mindanao will similarly have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by local thunderstorms. PAGASA cautioned of possible flash floods or landslides due to light to moderate with occasional heavy rains.

Northern and Central Luzon and the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Palawan will also have strong to gale winds, causing coastal waters to be rough or very rough.

The other parts of Luzon and Visayas will also experience moderate to strong winds. These will affect coastal waters to be moderate to rough.

Mindanao will have light to moderate winds, causing slight to moderate coastal waters. (PNA)
